About Us
Abu Hureira Academy is a non-profit making mixed day Muslim community school that has pioneered (in East Africa) into a new program of completely integrating the kindergarten, primary and high school secular curriculum with full Islamic Raw-dhah, Ibtidai, Mutawasid and Thanawi studies. The school is situated in Mombasa Island (on a 2 ½ acre piece of land) in the coast province of Kenya.
It began i ts operations on the 3rd of January, 1995 with two classes of kindergarten and three classes of primary with a total enrollment of about 50 pupils. It is with the blessings of Allah that this humble initial enrollment has, within the span of 15 years, grown to over 1300 learners served by a team of over 100 teaching and non-teaching staff.
here is also a section of Tahfidhul Quran where pupils memorize the holy Quran within three years before they join the integrated school. This integrated system has the unique advantage of giving its high school graduates the options of pursuing either secular or Islamic university education depending on their interests and availability of their preferred options. As part of the school’s future expansion strategies, a 25 acre piece of land has recently been bought to establish a boarding facility for the secondary wing (Inshallah) as soon as funds become available..
